Real Ear Verification of CROS and BiCROS Fittings
Description
When treating patients with single-sided deafness (SSD), one key consideration is the impact SSD has on binaural listening. The absence of key localization cues and the impact the head shadow effect has on the perception of sound coming from the affected side of the head can be addressed with Contralateral Routing Of Signal (CROS) hearing devices, and this course will discuss how the effectiveness of these devices can be verified using specific real ear measurement techniques.
Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to correctly identify candidates for CROS or BiCROS amplification treatment.
- After this course, participants will be able to explain how to verify via real ear measures the effectiveness CROS device fittings in overcoming the head-shadow effect.
- After this course, participants will be able to discuss how to verify via real ear measures the effectiveness of BiCROS device fitting in overcoming the head-shadow effect.
